How do I create and setup Descriptive Marking Scenarios? Print

ADMINISTRATION - Institute Administration - Customization Wizard - Academic Settings - Marking - Edit Marking format, scale and literals.
Press Open, a window will pop up containing some marking scales and formats, there you will have to create a new Marking Scale, by entering the description(name of the marking scale), the range of the values that means which mark represent what kind of Descriptive Mark the student gets and we note here that the option Descriptive must be checked and then press Save.

You can change the Pass Marks and put in the value you want.
2) Secondly, you will have to go to the next Category in the same Settings Tab, Descriptive Marking Scenarios.
The next window that will pop up in the screen that you have to create the Marking Scenario of your Descriptive Marking Scenario. You can edit, delete and create scenarios, just by pressing the Actions button on the top left of the screen and clicking Edit.
- To create a new Scenario, after clicking Edit, just click the row containing the sentence “Click here to add a new row”, declare its Description and if it will be used as a default Descriptive scenario.
Once you have finished declaring this information, just click anywhere outside the already checked row and it will be saved.
3. After saving the Descriptive Scenario , press the 3-dots at the end of the row.
Once you press this button, a screen will appear containing test/default categories for a Descriptive Scenario.
4. To edit and create your own categories press the Options button on the top left of your screen, right next to the save button.
Once you are in the options Menu, the screen will be like this.
Here you can create the categories that the students will be marked on.
To create a new category, put in the description of the marking category, and declare its Parental Category, if this is one of your Parental Categories then just leave it empty, and press Save .
After creating the first Parental Category, you start creating the categories of Descriptive Marking contained in the same Parental Category.

Once you get back to the main screen of the Descriptive Marking Scenario, which will be like:
Here, you can declare if this new category will be active, if it will include Numeric Marking, if its format will be Free Text and if it will have any Special Options and Custom Choices. We would like to note here that you need to check both the Parental Category and the sub-categories Active Button so that both categories are Active and if the setting “With Special Options” on the Parental Category is unchecked then “Custom Choices” menu will not be available.
After customizing the settings for every category then press Save which is on the top left corner of your screen ( the yellow Computer Disc)
5. Once you are done customizing the settings , go to the Subjects List , choose a subject
right-click it , and go to Add range of marking for descriptive assessement and choose the new Marking Range you created.
After that go to the same subject, right-click it again and go to Marking Periods And Marking Scenarios Management, a window will pop-up containing the Marking Periods, Marking Scenarios, Descriptive Assessment Scenarios and Mark decimals.
